How are cyclones formed?

When a tropical low (big tunderstorm) moves over a warm ocean, generally greater than 80 degrees it can start to grow due increased evapotranspiration in those areas. As the storm grows and the pressure gradients rise the storm will begin to spin. This is the Coriolis effect. Now this is where it gets intresting. The stronger the storm grows the faster it spins, that is where you can start to see cyclonic formation. If the wind speed increases to the point of around 75 mph then you have a cyclone or hurricane on your hands. Wait it gets better. As the storm further increasesin strength the center of rotation can become clear, known as the eye of the storm. Thats when it is time to "hunker down" cause your gonna get a bad one.
