What can i expect with a tongue peircing?

i got it done 7:00 pm on thursday, its 1:43 pm on saturday. swelling hasn't subsided, getting a little white blood cell pus around the piercing, on the tip of my tongue i have like red blotches, dont know what they are, and minimal pain. is all of this normal? and what else should i expect. i'm trying to have it half decent by friday, for warped tour. im also having not too much trouble eating, im only eating stuffing, mashed potatoes, and soup. had a doughnut (:
