Do doctors usually squeeze testicles during exam?

My new doctor is a woman and I recently went in for a physical. She said she had to check me out for testicle cancer. I was a little unsure about letting her do it, but sucked it up and dropped my pants. Well, she then proceeds to grab my sack as hard she can and squeeze my nuts really hard. She rolled them around between her fingers and even pulled on them. I just bit my lip because I didn't want to look like a wimp. But is this normally how doctors check testicles? After she was done my junk she just smiled and said "you are fine." What the hell?
