Engineering question... please help, my future depends on it?

Im in my second year of college, and im getting kind of scared because I originally wanted to be a police office/detective, but lately someone told me they dont make good money, and are underpaid for putting their lives on the line. So I have looked into Aerospace engineering, and it sounds very interesting and something i could enjoy doing, but I have no idea what courses to take, and what i actually need to learn. If anyone could give me any information about what you learn and what you do, and maybe what kind of cles or schooling i would need I would be very thankful and you will get the points. Thanks!
